Fuel is one of the biggest expenses in trucking, but with a few smart strategies, you can cut costs and improve efficiency.
Maintain Your Speed:
Driving at a consistent speed, especially in the 55-60 mph range, can drastically improve your fuel efficiency. Sudden acceleration and braking burn more fuel than you might think.
Reduce Idling:
While idling is sometimes unavoidable, excessive idling wastes fuel. Try to turn off your engine whenever you’re parked for more than a few minutes.
Making small changes can lead to big savings at the pump.
